INVESTIGATION: The 9/11 suspect - The Story by The Times

Where were you on September 11th, 2001?

Everyone remembers the horrifying moment when planes plunged into the World Trade Center & Pentagon. I remember watching the news with my Dad in the middle of the night, I was 14 and a week away from my first overseas trip, a 3 week student exchange in Japan.

Last week marked 24 years since the attack, and I was honoured to work on a mini series for The Story in the UK.

The three-part special investigative series reveals how a man arrested in Birmingham days after 9/11, may have been a key player in plotting the attacks.

I worked with the lovely and extra talented Taryn Siegel, who wrote and hosted, to help bring the sound design to life. We took advantage of working across different timezones (Australia & the UK), meaning production never stopped. As with any news podcast, things move fast and many stakeholders are involved. There were a lot of moving parts & tight deadlines behind the scenes, and Taryn was an absolute gem to work with.

I’m really proud of this series. This is the kind of work I love doing, big stories with high production value & sound design. And I’m especially proud of this considering the quick turnaround.
